Part of my process in the concept phase of new work is putting together mood boards. This helps me define the visual language, tone, and (obviously) mood for the story I want to tell. On literally my first day of work at the San Diego Zoo, I kicked off the redesign for the Food, Wine, and Brew Celebration, the zoo’s second-largest fundraising event of the year (no pressure).
